...evening walk became an evening flight Wild rainy weather for the day suddenly subsided into a golden sunset, warm rays flooding under the dissipating sheet of clouds. Taking the opportunity for some exercise, I headed out for a walk. However I hadn't made it to the corner before I'd decided that this would actually be a great time for a sunset flight.
I don't often fly at the local fields anymore as there's not that much space, quite a few trees and often people walking dogs or playing. However, with sunset approaching and it having just stopped raining, I packed the Turbo Porter and headed down the road. As ever sunset changes rapidly and the best of it was gone by the time the Porter headed to the skies. However, I managed to capture some of the fading sunset and enjoyed compiling the video...

I turned the Floater Jet to follow them, with the Mobius camera mounted on board. Despite the difficulty of flying chase in a Floater Jet, its high-mounted prop meaning it's always changing orientation with throttle adjustments, I managed to get close to them a few times.
By a stroke of luck, with the flock swiftly changing direction, the Floater Jet was suddenly in the midst of dozens of Corellas on the wing, their brilliant white plumage reflecting the golden sunset against a beautiful backdrop of distant clouds...
... loops around the moon A few days ago I took the Walrus for an evening fly at the local field, something of a regular occurrence lately and an opportunity to enjoy a calm and scenic flight as the evening set in.
It was lovely and calm, the sort of flying best suited to a Walrus whose slow and gentle characteristics match the serenity of deepening nightfall, yet with agility and manoeuvrability to graciously accommodate exuberance as well. Of course the first priority on a beautiful evening like this, with the full moon rising orange above the eastern horizon, is putting the Walrus through a few loops around the moon Flying aerobatics doesn't make for the best sunset footage however, with some creative editing and a lovely violin piece, I've managed to put together a video of the beautiful sunset and moon rising...
